I want to order prints of a photo - is this possible?
Definitely - photos that are of a high enough quality will also have the option to buy prints. Depending on the quality of the photo, sizes range from standard photo size to 10" x 15".

Whats up with the Copyright logo on each image? Will this be on the photo I buy?
As soon as an image is bought the Copyright logo disappears - we need to do this to ensure photographers get paid for their photos and people aren't downloading them for free.

What format are the photos in?
All surfPix photos are in JPG format.

What payment options do you provide?
You can choose to pay with your credit card, cheque or a bank transfer. When paying by credit card your images are available instantly, but if paying by cheque or bank transfer the image is released once payment has been received.

Why aren't all the same products available for every product?
Some images are a lot poorer than others so a 6" x 4" could be the maximum size it can be blown up without losing quality. All images are available for digital download!

Are there any restrictions on my use of the photos that I download?
Yes. While surfPix offers great freedoms and a wide ranges of uses, we do not allow the redistribution of our photos, or allow the use of our photos within products that are mass distributed in any type of archive format.

Can I submit photos to sell?
Definitely! We encourage you to load as many of your surf photos as you can. If anyone downloads one of your shots, your account will be credited with 50% of the sale price. We take the other 50% to help cover the cost of running the site and making sure your images are found! If a print of one of your photos is purchased, you receive $5 per photo - we take care of the processing and delivery!

When and how do I get paid?
We will pay you as soon as 3 of your photos have sold automatically, or you may request payment once 2 have sold. We pay all commission to photographers via PayPal.

Do I lose all rights once I upload my surf shots?
Definitely not. Any photos you sell are only allowed to be used by the purchaser and they cannot resell the images in any form. We will also not sell your photos in any other capacity!

How do I sign-up to sell my photos?
It couldn't really be much easier to sign-up with surfPix. Simply click here and enter your details.

How do I upload my photos?
1. Click Photographer Login and enter your details.
2. Select 'Add Photos'.
3. Browse your local drive for photos you wish to upload - up to 3 can be uploaded at any one time.
4. Enter the details for the photos and select the appropriate Categories.
5. Click 'Upload'.
6. Now all you have to do is wait for your photos to be approved and then they will show on the site!

What size should I make my images?
The bigger the better really - we can accept images up to 20Mb but we recommend a max of 5Mb. The better quality it is, the more chance you have of selling it! Photos that are under 1-2Mb will only be sold as a digital download.

It's taking me forever to upload my photos, what other options are there?
There are a couple of things you can do:

• Either upload smaller versions of the photo and state in the photo description area that hi-res photos will be provided upon purchase (we will contact you when one of your photos sell)
• Send your hi-res images to us on a CD/DVD and we will upload them for you for free. Mail to: surfpix, 11 York Street, Parnell, Auckland 1052.

I can't find the right category for my photo - what shall I do?
Simply e-mail us with your request and we will add the relevant category to the site.

What should I enter in the 'Keywords' box when uploading my photos?
We recommend you enter as many relevant terms as possible, whether it is the spot name, surfer or month/year the photo was taken. The more keywords you provide, the better chance you have of your photo being found then bought!

How much can I charge for my photos?
This is up to you, but the default price is $10. Simply enter the price you want to sell them for when entering the photo details.
